Road Trip Update

Things didn't quite work out as I had hoped.
Tried to get accommodation in Kiama but to no avail.
I drove there yesterday from Campbelltown & had lunch
then went to my special beach & sat for a while.
Have you ever been there it is such a calming, relaxing town,
even with all the tourists.
I would sell my house in a second to live there.
So a bit upset I couldn't stay overnight I decided to drive home.
14 hours later - 2am I arrived home.
Lakes Entrance - the whole population of Australia holidays there I am sure of it.
I have never see so many people in my life.
Of course when I decided to drive home didn't think about it being NYE did I ?
Got stuck in Lakes Entrance for about an hour - they had blocked the highway off
& had to take detours, cars - couldn't believe all of those cars trying to get through this town
Masses of people walking on the roads to go to the fireworks
It was a nightmare.
I am so glad I took this trip.
I now know I can just jump in the car & go anywhere.
I don't feel so trapped.
Will post some pics later.

Road trip

On Christmas day I drove to Bermagui in NSW to stay with my sister & her friends for a few days. I was a bit apprehensive at first but the drive was very calming & before I knew it I was there.
Today I drove from Bermagui to Campbelltown - hope to see Michael's son Josh & his wife Chloe. On Saturday I will be in Kiama for New Years Eve. Home probably Monday. I am pretty stoked I have been able to make this trip on my own - makes me feel empowered....
Have a Happy New Year Everyone...

Christmas Traditions

I am the one in my family that has kept up the Christmas traditions .
My star sign is Gemini so normally I would hate to do the same thing all the time.
But traditions need to be kept & passed down to the grand children & hopefully
they in turn will continue them.
I say grandchildren because unfortunately none of my children would do it.
Rhiannon & Shaemus will be the ones to carry on.
We didn't have Christmas last year as I couldn't face the day without Michael.
So we had no tree, no Christmas Lunch etc....
The word celebrate is no longer in my vocabulary.
This year I am going through the motions.
Our first tradition to start Christmas used to be taking the grandchildren to pick
out a tree from the Christmas tree farm.
Can't do that anymore without Michael, he loved looking for a tree as much as the boys did.
- so went a bought a fake tree.

Next tradition -
Rhiannon (18) decorates the tree, she has done since she was about 4 years old

As usual she has done an amazing job

Now I can wrap the presents & under the tree they go......

Personal Note

If I could have a lifetime wish
a dream that would come true
I'd pray to God with all my heart
for yesterday and you.
A thousand words can't bring you back
...I know because I've tried.
And neither will a million tears
I know because I've cried.
You left behind my broken heart
and happy memories too, but
I never wanted memories...
I only ever wanted you, Michael.

Birthday - Rock of Ages

It's my birthday today & last night my daughter, Hayley took me to see
Rock of Ages at the Comedy Theatre.
I love these times I am able to spend with my daughter they are so special.

I know these shows are expensive but honestly if you have a chance to go just do it.
The music is amazing. You know, it's when rock was rock !!!
Michael would have LOVED IT - Loud Rock music & girls in skimpy lingerie.
It was like being at a Rock concert, loud, loud music. Took me back to times gone by
I remember when ...............
The only thing I would have changed is what I wore .
Should have thought about it - & dragged out the leather jacket, boots, black eyeliner &
some chains. Stop laughing !! I used to look hot in that get up.....

We had a girls night out - Hayley's friend Kim, Rhiannon & my sister Debbie.

This is the first time Debbie & I have been together on my birthday for 11 years.

It was special.
We had dinner first at Yum Cha (next to Her Majesty's Theatre )
It was absolutely fabulous.
For those that know me the only Chinese I eat is Honey Chicken !!
But I decided to just do it & had Yum Cha & Peking Duck Yum Cha
(I think is what was called)

I didn't have time to take pics of the Peking Duck - we scoffed it so fast !!!
Michael would have been proud of me. It was so yummy !!

Worked out the Chopsticks at last !!

Thank you so much girls for such a wonderful night, love you !!

This is what I woke up to this morning, from Rhiannon -

Yep you guessed it - I cried !!!
Michael always did this on my birthday morning,
breakfast & my present on the table when I got up.
Thank you Cherub, I love you.

A night out

Had a wonderful time last night. Hayley took me to see Mary Poppins.
So special to spend some mother / daughter time - love being with her !!
Everything went so well. Got a parking spot practically outside Her Majesty's Theatre.
We had dinner in this dodgy chinese place, (next door to theatre) - the waitress was wearing big black glasses with no glass in them.
For what may have been the first time ever, I introduced Hayley to a dish
she hadn't tried before - San Chow Bow ( think that's what its called )
chicken mice wrapped in lettuce leaf - Michael loved these.
Hayley ordered Pork belly & rice & I had Lemon chicken & noodles
( I meant singapore noodles but was given spaghetti )
The Lemon chicken was actually a chicken schnitzel cut in strips which I
think they must have grabbed from the restaurant next door called Schnitzel !!!!
The meal was quite nice though.
Glass of Sav Blanc & we were very happy.
Mary Poppins was amazing - the sets, the costumes absolutely amazing
Thank you baby girl, had a wonderful night !!
